We are looking for a medium to senior level Web Applications and Software Developer

who has the ability to work in a team of equally talented Developers but also has the discipline to focus on a project and get it done as fast and effective as possible without compromising quality. The position is for a willing, enthusiastic and meticulous individual who will assist the Development Manager and the Development Team Members in realizing the vision of the Directors and the Company. It is necessary that the candidate has a unique and in-depth understanding of PHP, MySQL, Javascript (jQuery is preferable), and good XHTML practices. Above and beyond this, we’ll also take in consideration if you have skills in frameworks, especially Symfony 1.4 and/or 2.0, Linux Operating System, other database experience, and has a “think outside of the box” mentality and approach to problem solving and life in general.

Your day-to-day tasks may (and very well will) vary greatly, but will be rooted in the basics of Software Development. You will predominantly be required to develop front-end as well as backend systems using PHP, MySQL – PDO (Doctrine and Propel), jQuery and HTML. Development will be done on a Mac and will be rolled out to a Linux server.

You will also be required to challenge ideas, brainstorm with the team, come up with ideas on your own and in the group, develop proof-of-concepts and take projects from the start to finish and support them afterwards.

Skill & Knowledge Requirements

– PHP 5.4+

OptaServ is on the prowl for a super savvy Outbound Sales Agent for our Johannesburg office.

If you are a spunky go-getter who’s a little left-of-centre, totally customer orientated and your sales game is on fleek, then you could be the one.

We need an outbound sales consultant with the gift of the gab, who can sell over the phone, and face-to-face. Our agent X will be required to hunt for leads, cold canvas, and engage with new customers, as well as farm leads off the existing data base.

Every call is a consultation, where you will need to find the best product to meet the potential client’s needs. Not every solution will be the same. You’ll need to know your onions so you can give them the best possible service.

Most importantly of all, you will need to be dedicated to giving the best damn after sales service in the land, so that our customers stay happy and we can continue to satisfy their every online need with future up sell and cross-sell opportunities.


– Grade 12 (Matric)

– 1 – 3 years telesales experience, preferably in an outbound scenario
– MS Office Advanced Skills
